Description

Award Winning! The Twilight Zone Radio Drama Series has been awarded:

  • XM Radio Nation Award for being the best "Theater of Mind" programming on XM!
  • Gold Marcum Award for Best Radio Drama Series of 2006.

Collection 2 includes: “To Serve Man,” “A Quality of Mercy,” “Four o’Clock,” “Nervous Man in a Four Dollar Room,” and “The Dummy.”

The Twilight Zone Radio Dramas will keep you glued to the edge of your seat, whether listening in your home or in your car. Each tale unites classic stories and musical scores with contemporary sound effects and readings by distinguished guest stars.

Adapted from original scripts written for the television show created by Rod Serling that aired from 1959 to 1965, these radio dramas were contemporized and expanded to accommodate a radio format. Serling’s widow, Carol Serling, praised the radio adaptations, calling them “truly astounding.”

    AudioFile Magazine...
Rod Serling's "Twilight Zone" teleplays are among the most memorable in television history. The best of these four adaptations is "The 30-Fathom Grave," starring Blair Underwood. Kim Fields (Tootie from TV's "The Facts of Life") reprises Anne Francis's role in "The After Hours" as an amnesiac stranded in a department store. In "The Man in the Bottle," Ed Begley, Jr., plays a kindly curio-shop owner who learns to be careful what he wishes for. "Night of the Meek," the final story in this collection, a perennial favorite from the original series, stars Chris McDonald as a down-and-out department store Santa, but lacks the emotional punch of Art Carney's original 1960 performance. Narrator Stacy Keach and announcer Doug James do faithful Rod Serling impressions. The music and atmosphere capture the tone of the original, making this a nostalgic treat for old fans, and a wonderful introduction for those who have never set foot in the Twilight Zone. S.E.S. “This sparkling example of radio drama is a pleasant surprise. With top-grade production values and a generally excellent cast, this step into another dimension of time and space offers the light humor, whimsical sci-fi, and occasional drama that made the TV series a classic.”
